- 12. 9. 2007, Most, Hradec Králové -Racing driver Michal Matějovský is to take part in the upcoming racing event of the 'ADAC Procar Serie'. This will be his first involvement in this series. Last preparations were under way this week, both at the Autodrom Most Circuit and in the workshops of the company ČESKOSLOVENSKÝ MOTORSPORT, based in Hradec Králové. In fact, the 'ADAC Procar Serie' is a kind of parallel version of the World Touring Car Championship; as opposed to the FIA WTCC, latest race car models may not be entered for this series. However, it resembles the FIA WTCC, not only because of the system of the two twenty-minute final races, but also because of the types of race cars that take part. 'This is going to be a very valuable experience for me, and I am looking forward to it very much. The racing event is held at the Sachsenring circuit (www.sachsenring.de), and we have entered the Alfa Romeo 156 S 2000,' said racing driver Michal Matějovský after completing the test drives with this car at the Most circuit on Monday. Despite the adverse weather conditions, the testing turned out very well. And, on Thursday, racing driver Michal Matějovský and the team leave for Germany. Michal Matějovský will be the only Czech driver to take part in the German championship. The Sachsenring circuit will host the seventh of the series' eight racing events. 'Unfortunately, the terms of the previous races coincided with those of the races of the Československá pojišťovna - Škoda Octavia Cup. However, we are glad that we will manage the final two rounds. It will be a useful test and an opportunity to draw a comparison. We want to win recognition in the face of great competition,' said the team's general manager Stanislav Matějovský before the racing event in Germany. |
