'It is a rare occasion in the climate of the Czech Republic to carry out tests in the middle of February, and I am glad that we managed,' said young racing driver Michal Matějovský, satisfied with this year's first tests of the BMW130i race car, which were held at the Most racing circuit on Thursday, in the wet, cold weather (temperature about 5oC). And he went on: 'This year's winter is really strange. Despite the fact that it was raining lightly, we were able to make use of the Most racing circuit to the full extent, as if the tests had been held in the middle of April, not in February. In the course of the winter break, the car's rear axle had been modified, and so chassis adjustment was tested in particular. I am content with the results and it seems that the change is for the better.'
The promoters have announced that this year's series will comprise ten racing events plus one end-of-season free race which will be held within the framework of the 2007 EPILOG racing event in October 2007. An interesting fact is that two of the ten racing events will be held abroad - in Slovakia, and in Germany, at the Oschersleben circuit. The program also includes a free race that will take place at Nürburgring, Germany. The series will start towards the end of April at the Brno racing circuit (Brno Spring Prix, 28 to 29 April 2007).
