The fifth round of the BMW 1 Challenge series took place last weekend within the '35. PCS Hockenheim Meeting' racing event at the Hockenheimring circuit, Germany. The organizers also invited racing driver Michal Matějovský, who took advantage of their offer and, supported by the company Chase Pullman, contested both races.
According to the results of the timed practice sessions, Matějovský started the first of the two 22-lap races from the second spot of the grid, and succeeded in defending this position from the start up to the finish. In the second race, Matějovský did not settle for this placing and, after winning the duel fought with Petr Fulín, he won the second race at Hockenheimring in the end.
The top-three standings of the first race were as follows: Petr Fulín (Vekra Racing Team), 1st; Michal Matějovský (O2 Racing Team), 2nd; Lumír Firla (Racing Service International), 3rd. In the second race, Michal Matějovský (O2 Racing Team) finished in first place, Petr Fulín (Vekra Racing Team) came second, and Patrik Nemec, of Slovakia, finished third.
