16. 9. 2007, Sachsenring, Germany -Last weekend, our team's drivers, Laura Hájková and Šimon Kubišta, took part in the penultimate round of the German series '2007 Divinol Tourenwagen Cup' at the elaborate track of the Sachsenring circuit. For each of the two drivers, this was the first race at this circuit at all. Despite the limited number of practice drives, they coped with the track's pitfalls very quickly, in a fine manner. For Laura Hájková, with the Škoda Octavia Cup car, this race was a preparatory racing event before the upcoming event of the Česká pojišťovna - Škoda Octavia Cup, which takes place next weekend. Šimon Kubišta, on the other hand, already has the experience of driving in the Divinol Cup series; once again, he was at the wheel of the Alfa Romeo 147. After the team had overcome the initial problems and optimized the car's set-up, Šimon gradually moved up in each of the two races to take a spot within the first half of the field. Laura, through no fault of her own, got involved in a collision in which her car suffered damage to the rear wheel suspension and, consequently, Laura had to retire from the race. And, it was not possible to repair the car for the second race. The last racing event of this year's Divinol Tourenwagen Cup series is held on 19 and 20 October, at the Hockenheim circuit. |
