- 12. - 15. 7.2007, Essay, France -Between 12 and 15 July 2007, young driver Jiří Forman, this time under the colours of the Zip Kart team, of England, took part in the qualifying for the European KF 3 Championship. Held in Essay, France, this event was contested by almost 60 top-ranking kart drivers from nine European countries. 'For the whole time, I was running approximately fifth or sixth. However, in the last session, I lost time due to a collision and then had to struggle to get to the finals. In the end, I managed, by coming 17th,' said the young Czech driver, satisfied after the races. So, Jiří Forman, in the face of the great competition, is one of the 25 best drivers who are through to the finals. For the first time, he even outperformed most of his rivals from England. French journalists attending the event even mentioned him, owing to his driving style and the course of the qualifying, as one of the possible favourites of the European Championship, whose finals will be held in Italy, in September. Before the qualifying in Essay, Jiří Forman took part in the racing event held at Ala, Italy (Ala Karting Circuit, Easy Kart Series). He fared very well there: he won the trophy cup for the fifth place, while his team-mate, Radim Maxa, came fourth. |
