Radim Maxa has the lead of the Italian Championship |
- 22. 7. 2007, Pomposa, Italy -From 21 to 22 July, another round of the Easy Kart International series (www.easykart.it) took place at Pomposa, Italy. On Friday, Radim Maxa was running in the engine of his kart. On Saturday, six free practice sessions were held, and the team were struggling to adjust the kart's chassis to the track which was covered with rubber from tyres - at a temperature of fifty degrees Celsius, the surface was 'sticky'. Despite that, Maxa was running approximately fifth. In the first qualifying section on Sunday, Radim came second. In the second one, Lucia Miklavec, a girl-driver from Poland, got ahead of him, putting him to the third spot of the starting grid of the Sunday-afternoon race. In that race, right after the start, in the second turn, Radim Maxa successfully attacked the first position and left the pack behind. Then, he was steadily increasing his lead. He won the race, with a margin of 2.5 seconds at the chequered flag!!! At present, Radim Maxa is the leading driver of the Championship. To become the Champion of Central Italy, he only needs to finish in twentieth place in the last race at Cervia. |
