- 29.-30. 9. 2007, Vysoké Mýto -
Last weekend, the final racing event of the Karting Championship of the Czech Republic was held in the town of Vysoké Mýto, contested by Sébastien Kalvach, Radim Maxa and Jirka Forman.
Sébastien Kalvach, who is just gathering experience this year, took part in all three races of the 'Kadet' category, running in the second half of the field. In the end, he finished tenth on the whole, and, as regards the overall standings, he is eleventh.
Of the three drivers involved, the most successful in Vysoké Mýto was Radim Maxa, contesting the ROK Junior category. In the first race, Maxa fought the battle with Jan Midrla for the first place and, in the end, he crossed the finish line closely behind Midrla. In the second race, Maxa came fourth. However, in the last session, he made up for everything by coming first. So, having come second on the whole, Maxa added 58 points to his tally at Vysoké Mýto. With the total of 248 points, he finished third in the overall standings of this year of the Championship, behind Vrečka (255 points) and Jan Midrla, the winner (309 points).
For the first time this year, a racing event of the Championship of the Czech Republic was contested by Jiří Forman, who has been otherwise engaged abroad. At Vysoké Mýto, he was improving his performance lap by lap. Among the twenty drivers of the ROK Junior category, he clocked the ninth time at first; then, he was seventh, and, in the last race, he came sixth. He earned 26 points, and, as he did not take part in any other racing event of this year of the Championship, this is his final result. So, with only one racing event contested this year, Forman finished seventeenth in the overall standings.
However, this is not the end of the season for the young kart drivers. Forman, at the end of the next week, is to participate in a race at the Monaco track, that is, he will contest the prestigious FIA Monaco Kart Cup for the Formula A and ICA-Junior categories. And, Radim Maxa is bound for Italy, where almost 100 contestants of the 'ROK' category from across the whole world are expected to contest the World Finals event and the title of the World Champion of this category.
