Forman twice on the podium at the Most circuit

Páral, Novotný and Forman - the three best drivers of the Sunday sprint race of Division 4 of the International Racing Circuit Championship of the Czech Republic at the Most circuit - 10. 6. 2007, Most -

Another round of the International Racing Circuit Championship of the Czech Republic took place at the Autodrom Most Circuit last weekend, within the SPEEDCARS CHALLENGE WEEKEND event comprising a number of circuit races. The entire program culminated in the races of Division 4, that is, in the three-hour endurance race on Saturday, and in short sprint races on Sunday, for vehicles of categories up to 2000 cc and over 2000 cc. The Saturday endurance race was contested by three of the ALCATEL-LUCENT MOTORSPORT team's Alfa Romeo 147 GTA cars, and the Sunday sprint race, by the Alfa Romeo 156 S 2000 and two Alfa Romeo 147 GTA cars.

The Saturday three-hour endurance race was held in the 33°C oppressive heat. The first driver at the wheel of the first of the Alfa Romeo 147 GTA cars was Stanislav Lepka, who, after one and half hour, was succeeded by Miroslav Forman. 'The rotation passed off very quickly, in a fine way, and we even moved up to run at the first position of our category afterwards. However, a minor fault of the steering mechanism occurred after about two hours of the race, and, it was only with great effort that I managed to defend the third place up to the finish. The weather was so hot that the conditions were on the verge of the bearable limit, and so I am satisfied with the result,' said Miroslav Forman after he took the third place in the race, making his fellow-drivesr Stanislav Lepka and Šimon Kubišta very happy too. The second place in the category up to 2000 cc was claimed by the Slovak-Czech crew of Horňák/Valášek with a Renault Clio Sport, while drivers Foukal/Foukal, with a Honda S 2000, won the victory. The other two cars of the ALCATEL-LUCENT MOTORSPORT team were not so lucky. The car of drivers Vorba/Kubišta had to retire from the race after about half of an hour due to the engine breakdown, with Michael Vorba at the wheel. The third of the Alfa Romeo 147 GTA cars, of drivers Nykodým/Matějovský, when Jiří Nykodým was at the wheel at the beginning of the race, suffered damage in a collision. 'After a minor collision with one of the Ferraris , the fuel system broke down and the car did not go on any more,' explained the disappointed driver Jiří Nykodým in the pits to Michal Matějovský, who, consequently, was also affected and could not take part in the three-hour endurance race.

However, the Sunday sprint race was another success for the team. The category up to 2000 cc was contested by three of the team's drivers: Miroslav Forman, with an Alfa Romeo 156 S 2000, and Šimon Kubišta and Jiří Nykodým, each of them with an Alfa Romeo 147 GTA. Miroslav Forman started the race from the second line of the grid and, once again in the scorching heat conditions, claimed the third place in the end to earn another six valuable points. The other two of the team's drivers, Jiří Nykodým and Šimon Kubišta, were among the six drivers who were not classified: Jiří Nykodým, through no fault of his own, got involved in a collision and went off the track, and Šimon Kubišta had to retire from the race due to an engine breakdown, with five laps to go.
