Forman confirmed his Championship title in Brno |
-14. 10. 2007, Brno -The company ČESKOSLOVENSKÝ MOTORSPORT, based in Hradec Králové, successfully participated in the races held within the framework of the A1 Grand Prix series' event at the Brno circuit last weekend. The fine results accomplished by the company's teams were enhanced by racing driver Miroslav Forman, who, with the Audi A4 ST car, represented the company's Alcatel-Lucent MOTORSPORT team. Miroslav Forman, who had already secured for himself the title of the Champion of the Czech Republic in the 2000cc category of Division 4 before this event in Brno, could not take part in the entire program at the Brno circuit because he was helping his son at the prestigious Monaco Kart Cup in Monte Carlo, and only arrived in Brno in time for the Sunday race. As he did not participate in the Saturday qualifying, he had to start from the last spot of the grid on Sunday. Despite that, he managed to win the Sunday race in the end, and confirmed not only his Championship title in the 2000cc sprint category of Division 4, but also his overall Championship title in the 2000cc category of Division 4. Miroslav Forman's team mates, Šimon Kubišta and Jiří Nykodým, each with an Alfa Romeo 147 GTA, were also successful. Each of them showed a reliable performance. Kubišta, by clocking a fine time of 2:23.670, improved his personal lap record and ranked among the fastest drivers with Alfa Romeo 147 GTA cars. He came fourteenth in the overall standings of the race. Jiří Nykodým, through no fault of his own, got involved in a collision at one moment, and his car went into a rotational skid. He came sixteenth in the end. |
