Kubišta with Bareš ruled in the race Winter series |
- 9. 12. 2007, Oschersleben, Germany -
Last weekend there was an endurance five-hour race on a German circuit in Oschersleben. There were also two Czech representatives on the start. At the time when most of the circuit drivers relax, our team - under the name Geus motorsport - competed with one car Alfa Romeo 147 CTA, which was driven by experienced Šimon Kubišta. The second driver was Radek Bareš, who devoted himself mainly to Octavia Cup this year. The training and the race took place under the cold weather and our drivers let others know about them already from the time training, where they were on the top positions, as well as in overall classification.
The race was started by more experienced Kubišta and although there was quite a crowd after the start he gradually fought his way to the first position in his class. After 60 minutes Bareš took his turn, he raced with the car for the first time and he was very good at it. Even the little accident in the end of his ride didn't spoil this feeling. Bareš had to go with the broken left rear wheel support to the repair in the box. The mechanics replaced the broken support in less than 10 minutes and Kubišta started again on the route. Despite of the time loss he fought his way with his torrential style of ride to the second place. He managed to keep this great second place up to the finish.
Šimon Kubišta said after the race: "I really enjoyed it here a lot and I am satisfied with the result. The car was excellently prepared and it is also a great preparation for the next season. I would like to thank especially the mechanics, who performed perfect work."
Radek Bareš after the race: "I am really delighted with the driving characteristics of Alfa147; it was my first race with this car. I would like to thank Šimon for his help and valuable advice and the whole team for perfect work."
