The opening race of the MMÈR Championship is drawing near
With the introductory Le Brno twelve-hour race over, this year's racing season on the Automotodrom Brno race track is gathering pace, as the Masaryk Circuit Spring Prix is drawing near. This traditional season-opening event takes place on the weekend from 24 to 26 April, when Touring, GT and DTM cars, their engines roaring, will take to the track of the Automotodrom Brno circuit to contest the first race of the International Racing Circuit Championship of the Czech Republic (MMÈR).
Also taking part is Michal Matìjovský, who is to join the SEAT Sport Slovakia team's Vlado Hybáèek in the Saturday endurance race. Just before the free practice session on Friday, 24 April 2009, Michal Matìjovský, together with the BRT team's racing drivers Thed Bjork and Tomáš Kostka, took part in an event prepared for the children of the Brno-based Nursery, Elementary and Secondary School for the Visually Handicapped. The handicapped children enjoyed an opportunity to acquaint themselves at close range with race cars, and spent some time with the racing drivers in the pits of the Automotodrom Brno circuit.
