Jiøí Forman leads the Rotax Max Senior category of the MÈR Championship
On the weekend from 5 to 7 June 2009, the kart circuit at Vysoké Mýto hosted another racing event of the Championship of the Czech Republic (MÈR). It was the Rotax category that, as a rule, attracted the largest attendance of contestants, some of whom also take part in the prestigious Euro Challenge series. All of them were running at full stretch right from the beginning, as could be seen already in the free practice sessions on Friday and Saturday and, in particular, in the timed practice, in which our racing driver Jirka Forman came third.
'I wanted to take the victory straight away in the timed practice. As I did not manage, I am determined to achieve the best possible result in the Sunday races,' Jirka commented on the situation and his plans before the Sunday races. And, he did succeed. In Race 1, after making a good start, Jirka took advantage of his inside-track position, took the lead in Turn 2, and then kept his first position until the finish. In Race 2, Jirka engaged in fierce battles with his rivals. In the end, he finished second. These two placings earned him the excellent first place overall and, moreover, put him in the lead of the overall standings of the series, right in the middle of the season, when three of the series' racing events are over. So, it only remains for us to add that we wish Jirka to achieve the same result at the end of the season.
