Matėjovský finished in the second place
An excellent race from Michal Matėjovský at the Valencia Circuit on Sunday. After starting from the second row, Michal Matėjovský gradually moved up to the second place, which he defended up to the finish of the thirteen-lap race on Sunday. It is just by a very narrow margin that the SUNRED-BRT team's driver missed the opportunity to contest the upcoming FIA WTCC racing event at the Brno circuit with a Seat WTCC car. That is, the best three drivers of the Valencia racing event consisting of two races scored the same amount of points. So, Michal Matėjovský, Andrea Larini, of Italy, and Tim Coronel, of the Netherlands, lead the drivers' standings, each of them with 11 points. The placings after the Valencia event had to be determined on the basis of the times set in the Saturday qualifying. The first prize, that is, the opportunity to contest the FIA World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) racing event at the Brno Circuit, went to Tim Coronel, who had clocked the best time of the three drivers. Michal Matėjovský and A. Larini had to settle for the second and third places respectively.
Michal Matėjovský will contest the SEAT León Eurocup racing event at the Brno Circuit on 20 and 21 June. This is the first time that this series' racing event takes place in the Czech Republic. Michal Matėjovský, in front of Czech motor-sport fans, will certainly fight an extraordinary battle for the opportunity to compete with the world's best racing circuit drivers. If he succeeds in winning the victory, we will be able to see him in the subsequent WTCC racing event, which takes place in a month's time at Porto, Portugal.
Also, you can meet racing driver Michal Matėjovský at the upcoming '2009 AUTOSALON BRNO' motor show. On Sunday, 7 June 2009, Michal Matėjovský will be a guest of the company 'SEAT Česká republika' at their stand.
