Michal Matėjovský will start from the first row on Saturday
Matėjovský took no chances before the upcoming SEAT León Eurocup event. He has been at the Brands Hatch circuit from Monday, 13 July, when he spent the whole day testing. Towards the end of his test program, however, a gear box failure was detected, and so a new gear box was fitted before the weekend racing event. On Friday, Michal undertook the first free practice session.
The new gear box, however, failed as well, namely, in the second free practice session. Michal's mechanics were busy again, preparing the car for the timed practice, which, as an exception this time, took place already on Friday, towards the evening. The mechanics did a fine job, and Michal delighted them by taking the second best time, after he had been in the lead until the last minute of the session.
'I am glad that the mechanics managed to prepare the car. I would like to thank them for their excellent work. I achieved a very good result in the timed practice, and I look forward very much to tomorrow's race. The second spot of the starting grid is fine. However, the fourteen-lap race tomorrow will be very difficult,' said Michal Matėjovský.
