Michal Matėjovský's debut season in the Seat Leon Eurocup finished just a short time ago. Nevertheless, everything has been promptly prepared for the upcoming year of this racing circuit series. Supported by the company Seat once again, Michal, relying on the wealth of experience gained in the previous year, is determined to contest the top positions of the overall standings of the series, which consists of six weekend racing events, each of them with a practice and a qualifying session and, most importantly, with two racing sessions; the first racing session is always held on Saturday, the second one, on Sunday. Matėjovský will aim to win at least one of this year's weekend racing events to get an opportunity to contest a FIA World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) racing event, naturally, with a SEAT car. This year, the Seat Leon Eurocup series will also see its first racing event at the Brno Masaryk Circuit (www.automotodrombrno.cz), staged together with a FIA WTCC race in June.

'I have been preparing for the upcoming season very thoroughly, working hard to improve my physical condition. I am glad that we will start testing next month,' Michal Matėjovský summed up the situation and preparations before the season. In two weeks' time, he is leaving for Valencia, Spain, to undertake the first tests with his Seat car. This year, too, Michal Matėjovský will continue as a driver of the Spanish-Czech SUNRED-BRT team. Some works on the new car were performed in the Czech Republic. For example, the car's design was created by the company H.A.D., and the paintwork was provided by the company JK-Product (www.jkproduct.cz), based in Hradec Králové. The vehicle's transportation between the facilities in Martorell and Hradec Králové was secured by the company TaurusTrans (www.athis.com). The company ATHIS (www.athis.com), based in Prague, provided the car's final appearance. And, finally, the car's set-up and adjustment to fit the driver's specific requirements is ensured by the Spanish section of the team and by Michal's mechanic Zdenėk Bartoš, who has been working for Michal from the time of Michal's first steps in motor sport.

'Michal has got a new car for the upcoming season. After the experience of the previous year, we will emphasize the testing. This should not pose any problem, as we are ahead of time, as compared with the previous year. The Seat Leon Eurocup is the main item of Michal's program. However, we have been preparing his participation in an accompanying additional project, the details of which will be published in the course of February,' Stanislav Matėjovský, the team's general manager, said by way of introduction to the upcoming season.
