Matějovský Also Competing at Truckfest

Last weekend, the airport in Hradec Králové hosted the 13th year of a popular event, one of the biggest of this sort in central Europe, when forwarders with their trucks from the Czech Republic but also other countries come to meet. Taking part in the Truckfest 2013 was also the ČESKOSLOVENSKÝ MOTORSPORT's (Czechoslovak Motorsport) driver Michal Matějovský, here a guest of one of the exhibitors, The Association of Road Transport Organizers ČESMAD Bohemia.

While he was chatting to visitors an idea emerged welcomed also by another exhibitor, a company HELICAR a.s. (www.helicar.cz). Michal Matějovský explains: "The owners of the company HELICAR a.s. appeared among visitors to the ČESMAD Bohemia's stand and suggested trying a 220-metre sprint race on the runway. They had a new Mercedes C63 Black Series with 517 PS power output there. Since we were showing our team's Chevrolet Camaro ZL (max. 580 PS) I did not hesitate a minute and jumped at the chance."

Driving the Mercedes was the manager of the Helicar company's supervisory board, Ladislav Ornst, behind the steering wheel of the Chevrolet Camaro was Michal Matějovský. Three short sprints started in short sequence. The results were nearly equal. Actually, both drivers with their strong vehicles "created" a sort of interesting pre-race before the truck competition.
